Grasski needs regular maintenance. This is key fact that you need to know before purchasing. How much maintenance is needed you will find out in following article.

Grasski oiling

Grasski maintenanceGrasski doesn't have any bearings therefore needs regular oiling to keep them going. That means before every skiing you need to devote extra 5 minute of your time to put a little bit of bio oil into each roll inside grasski.

Without regular oiling rolls inside ski may get burned and damaged into such a level that ski speed will be lost. Solution to such damage is replace of all rolls (investment of 25€, 35€, 50€ depending on speed of rolls).

Grasski washing

Grasski maintenanceGrass skis suffer, unlike the winter ski, from dust, gravel and sand. When skiing, especially with aggressive edging or crashing, dust and grass can get into rolls and slow ski. Therefore, if you want to get the maximum out of your skis, skis needs to be washed regularly. To do this you need a bucket, detergent, sponge and water.Grasski maintenance

First, pour the water into a bucket and add detergent. Then gradually wash one ski and another. Washing is done such a way so at first wash all with sponge to wash away dirt and then you start cranking ski in the water. Than rotate ski inside basket with water forward and backward fast enough to get as much dirt and mud and grass out from ski.

After first washing is done, put clean water inside basket and rotate ski inside water to clean grasski and rolls from detergents.

After washing is done, several times rotate ski in hand to get water out from ski. Final step is letting ski dry. Drying can be done in two ways. If you feel that belt is too tight, never let your ski dry on direct sun! On other hand, if you feel belt is very loose, put wet ski on direct sun to let them dry quicker....this will make belt shrink a little.
